  • (1+ hours) $50/hour/per person

Take coaching lessons to help get your practice perfect or work on a particular skill. Use the coaching sessions to complete the NRA Marksmanship Program or fine-tune your shooting for competition. This is customizable to suit your needs.

  • (5 hours) $150/person*

This private class is for those that are unsure if pistol shooting is for them or someone who would like a refresher. It provides a simple overview of safety and pistol fundamentals. It does not go into the same level of detail as the NRA Basic Pistol Class.

If you are new to handgun shooting and know you would like to continue in the shooting sports, the Basic Pistol Class is a better option.

  • (8 hours) $200/Person*

This private NRA basic pistol class is designed for the complete novice and provides a comprehensive class on using and caring for a handgun. The class can cover semi-automatics and/or revolvers.

It will cover safety, pistol parts and operation, ammunition and cartridge malfunctions, shooting fundamentals, live fire range time, pistol selection, and cleaning. This course has hands-on practical sessions intermixed with the lecture.

This course utilizes state-of-the-art SIRT training Pistols and Mantis-X training software which helps measure your shooting skills and more. This class is a great foundation for more advanced training.

Please note this is not a concealed carry class. This class does however meet the training requirement for a concealed carry permit in the state of Virginia. I do not recommend that you start carrying a firearm for self-defense having taken only this class.

  • (13-15 hours) $250/Person*

This private class contains everything in the NRA Basic Pistol listed above. But additionally, it incorporates the context of the safety rules and application to self-defense, information on the type of semi-automatic pistol, and characteristics for a better understanding of gun selection.

It also covers ammunition types, including what is used for self-defense, more in-depth procedures for handling malfunctions, and focused procedures for loading and unloading. This transitions better to self-defense best practices and specific cleaning for your handgun (if you have one). The additional information requires this to be a two-day course.

  • (4-6 hours) $150/person*

Looking for a new gun but don’t know where to being? Overwhelmed when you walk into a gun store or gun show?

This private course is for you and is approximately 4 hours depending on questions. You will be sent a read ahead document to help you establish criteria that may be important to you and different types of options that could be available.

This course is set up like a wine tasting (minus the wine). We will introduce each gun, and you will receive an evaluation form for each one. The form will describe the gun and provide an evaluation area for different aspects like size (Does it fit your hand? Can you reach the controls?), disassembly for cleaning, difficulty racking/pulling the trigger, etc.

We then go to the range and will shoot each gun followed by another evaluation of how the recoil is, how it feels in the hand when shooting, etc.

This walks you through over 30 firearms including semi-autos and revolvers. In the end, we take the best characteristics and build your ideal gun. From there we will pick some models that you might want to consider.

This allows you to go to a range where you can rent them or a gun store or gun show and focus your search rather than being overwhelmed. We recommend that you do this class after a basic pistol class and you have an idea of what you might like.

  • (1-2 Hours) $50/person*

This class is customized to you and your firearm. It will teach you the proper way to clean your firearm. If you have bought a new gun or inherited a gun and have no idea how to clean it, this class is for you.

The class will run for 1-2 hours. The gun cleaning class is designed to provide specific instructions on how to clean your specific firearm. We will go over recommended equipment to help you take care of your gun and keep it running.
